Today I celebrate El Maestro

Alberto Castillo (El Maestro) would have been 87. He was mythical in my mind…strong, passionate, stubborn and proud. He was a stern parent, a loving husband and a loyal friend. It is only now that I am older and have the luxury of perspective that I truly appreciate the amazing yet complex man that he was.

So today I am proud to honor him. On his birthday, I launch El Maestro 35 with the hope that I can be mythical in my own way.
